Recently the Navy selected 210 Sailors to earn a college education and a commission as part of the Seaman-to-Admiral 21 program.
Selectees were chosen from among more than 700 “highly competitive applications,” according to Vice Adm. John Harvey, chief of naval personnel. “These highly motivated men and women will among the leaders of our Navy well into the 21st century,” Harvey wrote in a Naval Administrative message.
In addition to the 210 sailors selected, 57 were named alternates.
