Brother Withdrawls

My daughter who keeps making headlines on this site seems to be on a roll, because here I am again talking about her.  The other night, my son spent the night on base for a birthday party.  He is 9 years old and the ONLY time he has been allowed to have a sleep over at someone elses house was at Wendy’s, which I admit, I did spend most of my night in the kitchen looking in on him every so often.  Yes, I know, I need to let go, but I can’t help it.  I have a condition.  It’s called OPM, or otherwise known as Over Protective Mom.  Don’t worry, I plan on getting over it by Prom. Maybe.

So anyway, the boy leaves and I am left with my 6 year old daughter who is crying because she wants her “Brother”.  That’s what she calls him.  I bribe her with a girls night of fun.  We paint our nails, go out to eat, and talk about EVERYTHING. Of course, at the end of the night I have to get on the computer to do at least one hour of work, which is when she brought me this . . . MY daughter loves to play those hand clapping games/rhymes with her brother.

Her favorite goes like this:

“The Sailor went to sea, sea, sea,

To see what he could see, see, see,

But all that he could see, see, see,

Was the bottom of the great blue sea, sea, sea”

Yeah, I know, but she learned it at school, I can’t get her to stop.  So, as you can see by the picture, my bright daughter didn’t have her brother to play with, so she drew a picture of hands and did the song by herself why patting her hands against the drawing of the hands. . .

I’m not sure if this is considered a sign of brilliance, or a sign that she will need therapy if her brother ever spends more than one night away.
